Despite being a ps4 user I feel your pain in a similar manner with Killzone not having SS I don't understand why they won't just include a local co-op, if anyone can explain a technical reasom id appreciate it

Market data probably shows that the feature is largely underutilized, and it's more work and resources to run co-op than it is to do single player. It sucks for the few who do take advantage of it, but as games require more and more resources, local co-op becomes a more and more attractive sacrifice to free up said resources.

Lack of a local coop annoyed me, but there isn't even an online coop mode

When there are two people playing then they have to show more which requires more power, or less stuff on screen. If you ever played PS1 racing games it's very obvious, because the moment around maps is so quick. Rain effects get turned off, cars and levels become less detailed, and sometimes top speeds are throttled.

Yeah that makes sense but even with some lag its fun none the less

There are some technical limitation S, but not many people play SS anymore so it's not worth the investment in sorting it out. I only play when predrinkng, in my student flat we play card/board/video games every night, and it took me years to build up just 3 controllers for my consoles. Right now I only have 1 DS4.
