I agree that "military-bashing" isn't necessarily an agreeable practice - but that's just bad logic. Because I'm not a Member of Parliament does that mean I shouldn't vote?

You're judgement is basically making the leap from "He isn't in the military" to "He knows nothing about the military". For all you know, he could be pretty damned knowledgeable, but just exceedingly arrogant.
