Its going to be a great experience, the challenge will come from a small group of coordinated players taking on large groups of enemies. Dont think because the fights arent like PS2 this game wont have depth
No one expected this to be an MMO

how do you know its going to be great?
-
Technically, we don't. Philosophers have debated the meaning of 'great' for millennia, and so to define something as truly 'great' is near impossible. However, assuming the Halo and/or Marathon (and the one other Bungie game I always forget) were great, we can say with some certainty that Destiny, what with Bungie's experience and success, plus it's long production time, (there was an Easter Egg in ODST) large amounts of funding from Activision, better hardware from the new consoles, and gameplay clips from trailers and E3 and such, we can say that it will be great.

And if it doesn't turn out how you imagined it?

Then I'll play it for a bit, become disappointed, and buy ESO.
-
ESO is the way to go.
