No one can deny that Nintendo is in a very bad place with the Wii U right now. That being said, they're sitting on plenty of money, so they can weather this storm, however bad it may get. They've still got the 3DS, which is doing very well, even if it can't totally cover the losses. I will say that I don't totally agree with Iwata's decision to stay on- they need new blood. At the very least, he needs to start training a replacement so he can bow out gracefully.

 • Best thing for Nintendo to do would be to buddy up with someone (Google/Apple/Microsoft/Sony/Samsung) and expand their software, they have great games but shit consoles, think about it , if pokemon was released on IOS and Android tomorrow just how many copies would it sell?

 • I disagree. I think we need Nintendo in the hardware game for the sake of variety and innovation. Sure, not every idea is a hit, but at least they keep things interesting. What do Sony and Microsoft do? Just throw the best PC components they can in and they're done. That's fine, but you know they're never going to try anything more because as a business decision, doing anything radical is too risky. I appreciate Nintendo trying more oddball ideas that try to break the status quo.
