I can understand where you are coming from, but one of my friends has the largest collection of Doctor Who stuff you could imagine and we don't think anything of it. It's a little odd, but it just shows he loves the series. You don't have to have them on open display if you have new visitors but there is no need to get rid of stuff you love collecting for the sake of social appearances. Unless it's MLP dolls... then you should hide/burn them immediately.
