It doesn't have to be completely, but I definitely wouldn't want many of them. The best Easter Eggs are the ones that people could possibly find, and not even know it's an Easter Egg. I really enjoyed the homage payed to Marathon with the Marathon Man Achievement in Halo 3. Is it considered an Easter Egg? Probably not. It wasn't really hidden... But the average Halo player, who was not aware of Bungie's work, wouldn't have understood the significance of accessing in-game lore via terminals. That's the kind of Easter Egg I'd like to see, but Halo is too popular/recent for something like that to be lost on anyone.
