Isn't Australia's minimum wage like $17 or something? That would be pretty nice over here

    Than the highest state-wide minimum wage in the states, yeah - it's a bit under four dollars more than the federal minimum wage, I think. As I understand it, it's about two or three dollars higher than the Canadian minimum wages as well. There are only a few countries in the world with higher cost-of-living-adjusted minimum wages than ours.

  • Australian dollars are worth ten cents less than a US dollar. Now you could say that's not much and adds up to a still higher wage but also remember everything in Australia is priced much higher as well.
