Which error code is it throwing and what do the lights tell you when you start the diagnostic mode?
The x clamp repair kits are cheap and fairly easy to apply, but if its your GPU lifting then its game over unless you send it off to get the GPU reflowed.

No error code, just three red lights. I'm sending it off to Microsoft to be repaired or replaced. I tried everything I could find that didn't involve taking the thing apart.

Ah ok. Well if Microsoft can fix it under warranty then its all good. I fixed my old 2007 Xbox a few months back and it was a pain.
