I thought this guy had a pretty strong opinion. yet another post from Capcom-Unity, this time from the user "Nikolaos" [spoiler]Yeah, I'm done with Capcom. I will just re-post my rant at Kotaku: This is the biggest pile of **** I've ever read in my entire life, and it's also the reason why Capcom will plummet all the way down to publisher hell. There is SO much idiocy in Capcom's HQ right now, it's embarrassing to think that this was, once upon a time, my favourite company. Yes, the original RE fanbase is now 40 years old. Does this mean that RE wouldn't make new fans? People who play Halo 4 are only people who played Halo 1 when it first came out? People who watch NBA are only people who watched NBA when it was established? People who play Call of Duty are only the people who played and bought Call of Duty 1? People who played Final Fantasy VII are only the people who bought and played Final Fantasy 1? Mighty Number 9 proved you wrong, Capcom. It proved you wrong when you thought that a franchise of yours wouldn't make any money and was completely unprofitable, and made you declare Megaman dead. Yet in just a few weeks, the MN9 project raised more than 3 million dollars. Dollars YOU could've made IF YOU STOP LICKING THE ASS OF THE CASUALS, AND KEPT ON MAKING HARDCORE GAMES FOR THE HARDCORE FANS. IF YOU MAKE HORROR GAMES, HORROR FANS WILL BUY THEM. IF A 40 YEAR OLD LEAVES THE FRANCHISE, ANOTHER 18 YEAR OLD HORROR FAN WILL TAKE HIS PLACE. BUT IF YOU TURN HORROR INTO ACTION, THE ONLY ONES WHO WILL BUY WILL BE OLD FANS WHO STILL HAVE MEMORIES OF WHAT RE USED TO BE!!! GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL!!! That's your ****ing problem, Capcom. You have completely alienated yourself from your fanbase, and started making casual games of questionable quality, alienating the hardcore fanbase which MADE YOU WHAT YOU ARE. This isn't about the fanbase growing old. It's about a company that has absolutely NO idea how to approach fans, how to make new and awesome ideas and just rips off the most successful western game in a horrible, horrible way. It's about a company that invests millions of dollars in USELESS advertising (Demon's Souls sold like hotcakes by word-of-mouth, and because it was awesome, not because of Hollywood-level ads), CGI sequences that no one gives a **** about, and made its games a total mess of guns, tits, tentacles and ass. You haven't learned a thing, considering you now wish to make RE7 be a cross between the Last of Us and Tomb Raider and make it some ... sort of ... fashion show. You're reacting instead of acting. Well, GO **** YOURSELF. RE is dead, long live The Evil Within. Darkstalkers are dead, long live Killer Instinct. Devil May Cry is dead, long live Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Dino Crisis is dead, long live Primal Carnage - Genesis. Mega Man is dead, long live Mighty Number 9. You think I'm too old, Capcom? Well, GO **** YOURSELF.
