The very first mission should be solo with AI as the guardians. You should get to play through the mission through each perspective and then you must make the decision.

Edited by FairlySplendid: 12/26/2013 12:34:58 AMYou're over-thinking it. - There is no need for AI bots. Simply play the game. Solo or with friends or with randoms... whatever. Just play the game and see how you like the class and focus, etc. - If you don't like it, just start a new character or try a different focus. - You aren't "trapped" to one character. So you can presumably play all three if you like. As well as try many different foci. There are multiple character slots and foci are interchangeable to boot.

- I said use AI bots because the game is about teamwork and then your in a fireteam. This shouldn't be online because there's always going to be trolls who join and mess everything up. You also need to learn the ropes of the game(more difficult in multiplayer) - As he said this will be YOUR CHARACTER the one you've had from the start and we also still don't know how having multiple characters works, or if you can delete them and replace them

Edited by FairlySplendid: 12/26/2013 1:00:49 AMYou learn the ropes by playing the game. Presumably story missions, side missions and strikes will be the best place to get a feel for the mechanics, if you are hesitant to jump in head first. Regardless, this game doesn't have an offline or single-player mode. It's a persistent online world. You can't watch from the sidelines, you are actively taking part at all times. As for character-slots: Of course you can add, delete, switch-between and replace characters. There are multiple character slots and it would be down right silly to not let you do so. Destiny isn't some RPG from the 90s with limited functionality ;) Your character doesn't have to be just one.

I'm just saying when I pick a class I'm going to play with that class for a while and I want to be able to make a good decision
-
Right on. And all I'm saying is that you don't have to worry about making the "wrong" decision. Destiny will give us a lot of freedom. They talk all about it in the January Game Informer.
