What exactly was the point of them making a Human Reaper? They already had a whole armada.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. They make Reapers out of the most worthy civilizations at the time. This was humanity, seeing as how it was a human who always seemed to fuck up their plans. And their bodies are fairly adaptable to biotics and other stuffs.

Gotcha. So was the point of it to be able to use biotics or something? And how come there were no other Reapers in different form, like Protheans? I'm kinda rusty on my ME lore and never played all of the DLC's for every game.

No, the point was to preserve the most advanced species (advanced in terms of genetics and technology) in Reaper form (by harvesting their species and "building" the Reaper) and wiping out the other species. The more primitive species, like ancient humans, are left alone. The reason for this is to stop these advanced species from creating AI that would eventually rebel against their creators. Basically, the Quarians already did this (as mentioned by one of the Reapers). The Reapers were created to stop organics from creating synthetics that would rebel and kill everything. This was chaos, and the Reapers were built as a solution to this chaos. The Reapers, or more specifically the Catalyst, noticed that organics would always create synthetics to make their lives more easy. These synthetics would get more and more advanced as organics tinker with them. Eventually, the synthetics would become self-aware and rebel (since nobody WANTS to be a slave). The Reapers were created to stop this.

The purpose of the Reapers has shifted numerous times due to incompetent writers.

  • Oh okay I understand better now. I never really got the whole point of the Reapers though, kind of ironic. They're created to stop synthetics rebelling against organics, yet they went on a genocidal rampage against their creators.

They do come different forms, the race they represent is inside the Reaper shell. The Reaper shell originates from the first harvested race, The Leviathans.

  • Oh okay, so was the Human Reaper just going to be placed inside a Reaper shell? I always thought that the Human Reaper was kinda just in that shape and was gonna stomp around everywhere wrecking shit, lol.

Well, under Walters it was to save and preserve Humanity from eventual Synthetic extermination Under Drew? To save the universe from ending because dark energy and humans are the only ones who can stop it by being turned into reapers because raisins
