More like the generic battlefield player. Playing as a lone wolf, whining when nobody helps you. Learn to be a team player. Then, maybe you can move on to a game for adults, like PlanetSide 2.

 • Whoa whoa whoa who pissed in your Cheerios this morning. I'll bite, the point of the vid was to demonstrate how oblivious the general population of the game is. Rightfully so, everyone experiences this, even you. I shouldn't have to go into a game with friends, but instead, right off the bat have my mic plugged in and willing to communicate with others who are willing to communicate with me. That's absent nowadays, even in Planetside 2 which has it's own share of "generic teammates" not supporting one another. If I can't communicate with anyone then I might as well do what I can where I can by playing the objective in support of our team.

 • Alright, yes, I understand where you're coming from. And to be fair, my initial comment was too condescending, so I apologize for that. However, I'll stick by my point that you need to look at the bigger picture here. The you were yelling at could be unwilling to communicate for a whole list of reasons (incompetency, new to the game, playing casually, doesn't have a mic, playing with the sound off, etc.) but you also need to consider whether you're beating a dead horse looking for teammates amid a sea of public players. Even PlanetSide 2 can be incredibly frustrating to find teammates in if you just try to meet up with general players. I know what you want, you want to play a game with teammates and use real teamwork and communication to achieve victory, not just passively be on the side with the most players that have a better K/D ratio or whatever. So my advice to you is: join a clan or outfit or other community of players who connect to each other outside the game itself. I did this a year ago, when I joined the 666 Devil Dogs PlanetSide 2 outfit. It's a collection of almost 2000 players who want to use actual teamwork when they play and coordinate with each other. We have ranks, special ways of communicating information, clearly designated leaders and followers and a code of conduct, not because it's about living out a fantasy but because that kind of stuff is necessary when you have 70+ players all working together to achieve victory in a game this big. So now, whenever I play PlanetSide 2, I also run TeamSpeak to talk to my teammates in the 666 Devil Dogs while I play with them in the game itself. And my gameplay experience has been improved a hundred times over! TL;DR: Don't expect to find good teammates among the players you were randomly matched up with. Look for a community of players when you're not playing, join them, and play with them when next you play.

 • With the lack of a squad feature like in BF3, and the current state the game is in (dropping out of games) it'd just be easier to have people be on the same page as you occasionally. Not all the time because it is expected of those to just sit back and relax to play nonchalantly from time to time. You do bring up the interesting idea of a clan/group. It's not necessarily something I'm fond of (some people are strict, others tend to get....weird) but if I manage to find the right group of people it can work out tremendously.

 •
It's not necessarily something I'm fond of
I know just how you feel. You don't want to get involved with a bunch of MLGtryhards or people who insist you follow through with a specific ritual or maintain certain stats in-game in order to stay in the clan. Some clans are like that. Some clans are dormant or poorly organized. A sign of a good clan is one that's either got its own website, and/or is posting on online forums looking for members to join. I picked 666 Devil Dogs specifically because they were a really large outfit (so I knew I'd have people to play with), plus they had their own website (that shows a degree of organization that you want in a teamwork-oriented outfit/clan) and everything about them told me if I was willing to work with them, they would be willing to work with me. You won't get into a good clan unless you try. The vast majority of gaming clans out there are happy to have another player onboard, and you'll finally consistently have some decent teammates in Battlefield 4.

 • I guess I'll give it a shot. I mean the worst that can happen is me leaving the clan.
