    • If we graded on that scale, I'd be valedictorian right now.

    • How about schools stop being retarded and grade by percentage?

    • The Scottish system is completely different. Instead of A's and B's, you sit either national 4's or national 5's, and must pass every individual outcome.

At university here in Australia (at least for my course), grading goes like this: High Distinction - >80% Distinction - 70% Credit - 60% Pass - 50% Fail - ~<48% If you get around 50% (but below) you can still pass if you prove you're capable or something. But yeah. Not particularly difficult.

        • Never understood why some countries use letters to simplify their grading system. Why not just use the more accurate percentages?

          • Over here, we never used letters. If something was 8/15, that's all it was.

            • Depends on the exam subject. e.g. For IT, the exam is piss-easy but anything lower than 80% is a D (which in a place where only A*'s, A's and B's are counted in any way "usable", it's terrible). While in Physics, 30% is an E/U (Fail), with 80% being A. (Mostly because the exam questions are quite tricky to understand, let alone answer)

              • depends on the subject, course, year, topic, questions, examination board, etc, etc.... seriously, this is dumb. there isn't one single grading system to cover absolutely everything over here, and i would really find it hard to believe that that is the case in any country.

God no, I saw that on facebook earlier and facedesk'd. For my A levels it was 90-95% = A* Depending on the subject/exam 85-90% = A 75-85% = B 65-75% = C Anything lower and you failed (Sort of, the grades wouldn't be good enough to get you anywhere respectable)

60% is a c (just a pass, not special) 70%/75% is a B (Not to amazing but ehhh something) 80%/85% is an A (That's pretty good, something to kinda brag about, pretty hard) 90%/95% is an A* (Now that's hard as -blam!-, that's something to show off and brag about) Oh and the percentage boundaries my vary (that's why I have 2 boundary levels for most of the grades) depending on the exam board, subject, paper, unit. 50% is a D (These are all the grades which mean you have failed an exam) Then it can go to E, F, G, there might be a H Then U is given when you don't take the exam I think. That picture is inaccurate as -blam!-. Oh and if you fail an exam it is a big embarrasement and it makes it hard to get accepted into sixth forms/colleges and may even affect which Uni you go to so ye, it's a piss take.
