Seldom have I be willing to admit a hopeless cause, but;
"Gun sales at three major U.S. firearms makers soared in the wake of the Dec. 14, 2012, Newtown school slaughter, setting new company records and decisively beating 2012 sales"
Perhaps we need to turn this on its head, declare a free shoot day (or week) and allow anyone who wishes to have the right to gun ownership to experience that right to its maximum. Declare Nevada the venue, send them all into that one location and allow nature to take its course. Stupidity cannot be countered with reason alone.

Edited by Oh GodLike One: 12/21/2013 2:39:14 PMEither that or a case of mass paranoia ... and that is as about as healthy. Why is america so fearful? In what normal world does the news "20 children, aged 6 and 7, get shot dead" translate into the thought "gotta git me self a gun"?? In what world can you suit MacDonalds (for $5.67 million) for slipping on a spilt drink ... yet a gun is sold to a man who kills 20 children and there is no harm (other than the benefit of selling record numbers of more guns)??
