Thoughts on Bungie.next's impact.

It's been a whole year since Bungie.next hit us. I was there at the moment it launched and disliked it. I then receded into the background, never to be seen again. Or so I thought. I missed the community here, and so I'm back now. But, I need to know, did anyone else feel this way when B.next launched? Do you only stay for the community, or for Bungie as a whole? Do you think Bungie.next was a success or a flop? Thoughts in general about Bungie.next?

  • Honestly if they would bring back bars I wouldnt care. But why get everyone to work toward something than take it away?

  •
Do you only stay for the community, or for Bungie as a whole?
Both I suppose.
Do you think Bungie.next was a success or a flop? Thoughts in general about Bungie.next?
B.next has some pros and cons to it. I prefer the #oldways myself, but being able to mute and notifications is great. Success or flop? I'm not sure. Has the traffic for the site decreased or increased?

    • The new layout -blam!-ing hurts my eyes to no end, I can only really browse and post on the iPhone app (which I am on now).

    • I have always thought that Bungie.net had a poor sense of community. Bungie.next seems worse than it was on the old site. On the old site when the mains were slow private groups were a good place to talk to your friends on, but since the change even private groups are dead. Is Bungie.next a success or a flop? I think it's too early to say, I'm curious to see what happens around here when Destiny is released.

    • It's as poor as it ever was.

    • I lurk for the people, not the site aesthetics.

    • I still dislike it, a year on. It basically killed the forums as we knew them, private groups took a massive hit, and DeeJ still hasn't given me my blue bar back yet.

      • If you ignore the fact that private groups got crushed, I've been enjoying the increased freedom of b.next. - Der

      • The community definately changed quite a bit. It seems like overall activity slowed.

      • So community-destroying and ill-thought-out that it makes my sphincter hurt.

      • I like it just fine, and I never gave up on it. It is a very good looking website, but I do miss b.old a little bit. Just the classic feel of it.
