Bravely Default for 3DS [Heads Up: JRPG Stuff]

Metro review
In Short: A brave game indeed as it attempts to marry the best of old school Japanese role-players with new and modern ideas… and generally succeeds. Pros: A great mix of the new and the old, with the brave and default moves working very well. Flexible job system, attractive visuals, and great use of AR and StreetPass. Cons: The story and voiceovers are terrible, while the dialogue veers wildly from sappy drivel to knowing humour. Unnecessarily confusing terminology and… microtransactions. Score: 8/10
Eurogamer 8/10 metacritic neogaf summary thread Sequel to Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes of Light. Exclusive to 3DS. From what I'm hearing its sounding pretty good. Definitely hate the voice acting tho. Release dates: JP December 5, 2013 EU December 6, 2013 AUS December 7, 2013 NA February 7, 2014 Thoughts? Any of the European or Australian members of b.net plan on picking this up for the 3DS?

  • I'll say it again, February and March of next year are going to be amazing times for those that like JRPGs, the Dialogue and Microtransactions bum me out though about that.

    • In regards to the cons they listed: Why do companies even bother dubbing Japanese games halfheartedly? Japan treats their voice actors like we treat our movie stars, they have multiple colleges dedicated to Voice acting, simply leaving the voices as is would be perfectly fine for for most every game - and most importantly, it wouldn't cost anything to keep the audio the same, but it does take up resources to put together even a shoddy dub. I mean, it's almost like they don't want to sell the game...
