then there are the retcon/reboot movies which try to inject sense
Arguably, the Rebuilds make a lot less sense than the original series.
Now they're going from 3.33 to 3.0...
1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 are the theatrical cuts of the films, there's no way to get your hands on them. They are the movies as they were shown in theaters. What you're referring to is the 1.11, 2.22, and 3.33 DVD/BD home video release of the movies, these are the finalized versions of the films with adjustments and a little bit of new footage (only in 2.22's case). There was another home video DVD release of the first film called 1.01, however this is an inferior version of the film and only die hard collectors would want it.

Wait, so I should keep my copy of 1.01? Will that be worth something in 20 years?

Edited by Gaara444: 12/4/2013 12:19:52 AMUS or Japanese release? FUNimation still sells copies of 1.01 even though they advertise 1.11 as the official home video release. Khara discontinued the Japanese release of 1.01 so those are more valuable, furthermore they're even more valuable if you have the Limited Edition version of 1.01.

Damn, it's the English release. Well, I guess I'm back to trying to hawk it off to someone.
