Because it's our right as citizens. If people want to act like that they can. I usually just ignore it.

  • That's not an answer. You have the right to act in a variety of ways, so it can't be the reason why you choose, out of all the possibilities, to act like this.

  • It's an answer. You just chose not to accept it as one. Which is your right.

  • Is this bait? Are you trying the "I'm deliberately being really stupid" trolling technique? You have the right to twist every news article you can into an attack on another group. You also have the right to not twist every news article you can into an attack on another group, or to eat copious amounts of cheese, or to turn cartwheels in your front garden dressed in a pink unisuit. Why, out of all the ways you could act, do you choose to act like this? To put it another way, rights give you the authority to do X, but they don't explain why you'd want to do X in the first place.

  • Note I never said I agree with how they act. But it is a right as a US citizen, they have the right to be ignorant and tear our country apart if they want. No matter how much I complain on forums about it or voice my opinion it won't change.

Dude, you're missing the point entirely. I'm not questioning their right to do it. This has nothing to do with rights. I'm asking why they want to act like that in the first place.

  • Well that's an easy one. People feel the need to tear others down to build themselves up. The media and politics enforce this as something that is socially acceptable. It's sad.

  • Agreed. The really sad thing is, if you picked a random person off the street and asked them what they thought about your statement, they'd almost certainly agree. But they never realize it's something they themselves are part of.
