There are several users bragging about having "an army of alts" that they use to globally mute people. Aside from keeping our heads down, can any of us do anything about this?

Edited by Fat Tony: 11/22/2013 12:49:29 PMIt's odd, didn't the initial decision to add the global mute/mute feature come to fruition because it removed several subjective areas of moderation? If that was the case, then how come a thread can get globally muted? Isn't it essentially the same thing as bungie.old, except the decision of whether or not something is worthy of being hidden is up to other users (and not necessarily yourself) instead of the moderating team?

There are a range of valid reasons to remove the mute feature without the issue of abuse, it would be more beneficial to do away with the feature.

Proving it, he hit this thread.

5 RepliesYou're like 40 years old. The fact that something like this is even an issue to someone your age is just pathetic.

4 RepliesEdited by FoMan123: 11/20/2013 7:45:07 AMThe Web Team knows about it, but until the issue is addressed, don't forget that you can always use the "Follow" button, which automatically undoes global mutes for users that you're following.

4 RepliesOr you can just be a respectful poster and not get muted by simply ignoring the idiots who want to fight. Obvious solution is obvious.

1 ReplyTake out global mutes. Just because everyone else doesn't like him doesn't mean the website gets to make choices for me.
-
4 RepliesI think it's pretty funny. Not the act itself but that people are so pathetic that they actually put the effort into such a thing.

13 RepliesNothing. What's funny is that 6 months ago Achronos was denying that this sort of thing could ever happen. Now here we are 6 months later with people like Camnator and Rose muting people that don't like. We now have to wait for Achronos and his team to come up with a solution now that its a problem since they decided not to be proactive and prevent it.

I've posted about it a couple times. "We're working on it" is the best response I've gotten thus far.

2 RepliesI doubt you'll be able to quote someone saying that.

1 ReplyWe don't. Welcome to b.next.

Not yet but I hear it's known about and will probably get looked into.

I've said for a while not they should just get rid of reports and bans entirely.
