I'm just left with so many questions that don't have answers.
Is Vaatu coming back in 10,000 years?
Will the Avatar Cycle continue even without the past connections?
What did Jenora use against Unalaq/Vaatu?
How did Zhao get into the Spirit World?

Vaatu will come back it's said you cannot completely destroy the other which is why Rava could still be brought back by finding her in Vaatu. The cycle will continue, it only stops if the Avatar is killed in the Avatar State. Some kind of magic light to point out Rava. He got grabbed by the Ocean spirit remember? It must have dragged him into the spirit world and throwing him into the fog of lost souls.

La pulled him into the spirit world and imprisoned him there.

Who the hell is "La?"

La is the spirit that bonded with Aang after Tui was killed by Zhao. After Aang and La seperated La got revenge by imprisoning Zhao.

Oh, I thought your response was regarding what happened to Vaatu. I thought you said he was pulled back into the spirit world by La, and I was like "Boy you on some hardcore drugs."

Zhao just got the shit end of the stick and thrown into the fog prison, probably because he was a jerk to some spirits

No the giant Ocean Spirit dragged him there and probably thrown him into the fog like the spider did to to tenzin.

The ocean spirit was aang though

At the end of this clip the Ocean spirit releases Aang and then kidnaps Zhao

I meant it shows you releasing him in the clip because about 10 secs later it attacks Zhao also it does use the Avatar's power to enter that form but it still formed a fist to grab zhao so it had it's own power too. The Avatar just amplified that power.
