I know it's fun to use hyperbole, but you do realize that part of the logic made sense right? The Catalyst wasn't trying to prevent the [i]act[/i] of synthetics killing organics from taking place, but to prevent synthetics from [i]exterminating[/i] organics. The means are the same but the ends are different.

The organics were stored in reaper form. That's what the harvest is; essentially melt them down and build a new reaper. I assume the genetic information is stored somewhere in the reaper

That's not what I referring to. I'm referring to the harvest. Yes, they killed organics, but they did it so that more organics could live. If they didn't value organics living "free" in [i]any[/i] way, they would have just reaperfied everyone at first contact.
