Spartan Ops was crappy twist that was just a Ripoff on the mode "Special ops" from the Modern Warfare series (COD)
Hype = Excited - bored as hell (not surprising)

But the main difference is that Spartan Ops has an actual story line while Special Ops were non-canon. Plus Spartan Ops missions are much longer. Really, the only similarity is that they both have "Ops" in their names.
