Bungie.net randomly assigned me a Gamertag. I'm unable to unlink it because one must sign in to XBL to unlink, & I can't sign in to XBL to confirm the unlink because I don't know the Login or Password as it was never my Gamertag.

  • You've been a member since 2010. Back then you needed a Microsoft live account. I'm guessing that the XBL account currently associated with your b.net account is the same one you used to originally sign on to b.net. If you remember the email address and password from bungie.old, try that to unlink your XBL account. Otherwise I think your SOL.

  • I've NEVER changed my XBL Gamertag since 2007 and up until a couple weeks ago the correct one was actually linked. Now it's different and I can't figure out how to unlink it.

  • What happens when you use your gamertag credentials? Ie. your gamer tag email and password. Does the gamer tag you used with bungie.old still exist?

  • Sounds like somewhere something got messed up. Wish I could help you, but unless you have access to the XBL credentials, there is not much that can be done.

  • This state of affairs is not acceptable to me. If you're unable to help me that's fine, I understand & appreciate the attempt. I really do. However. this issue still needs to be resolved. I guess now I need help getting in contact with someone @ Bungie or whoever manages the website that has more authority over accounts. Someone that actually has the acct access or root code access to remove the association of this unknown Gamertag from my acct. Thanks in advance for your help, Deuce.

I understand your frustration. The only one I can think of with the power to help you is Achronos. This could be a bug arising from you having changed your gamertag. Have you changed your gamertag resently? Perhap if you did, Microsoft assigned you a new new userid, which would have broke b.nets association with your WLID. Edit: just reread you never changed your gamertag.. so, I don't know.. I'm just a member like you tring to help.. I'd send Achronos a pm and hope he has time to help with such matters.
