Here is the thing: we don't know anything about the Doctor before the fateful night in the junkyard, save he did have a wife, at least one child, and that child is the mother/father of Susan. He has mentioned he was terrible at his wedding. His family are shrouded in mystery, other than the obvious ones (Susan and Jenny). Many will claim that the mysterious woman that kept appearing to Wilfred in "The End of Time" was the Doctor's mother, although this was never proven. In the Doctor Who Movie from 1996, the Doctor claims he was half human, but this was also never firmly established in the rest of the canon (Rule #1: The Doctor Lies).
