Because Pokemon's metagame is clearly designed for children.
-
Can you objectively tell me how Pokemon is a "kid's game"? I fail to see any logic in your comment.
Nice bait, btw.
-
I can't objectively tell you anything, it's just what I think.
-
Exactly. So, you knew full well that your opinion was going to be unwanted here. Instead of doing the mature thing, you decided to post your irrelevant banter in an attempt to anger other users. Please leave the discussion, and edit your post, please.
-
"You're opinion offends me, it's upsetting." That's all I got from your post, not surprised you like Pokemon.
-
No. It's one thing to share your opinion respectfully. It's another to be an little sh1t about it. I know you don't like Pokemon, fine. I think you're missing out. But if I wanted your opinion, I would've asked. I'm trying to be a nice guy about it. Please remove your comment.
-
I did like pokemon, when I was 10.
-
Great dodging if the topic. How old are you now?
-
-
What was your first pokemon game?
-
pokemon blue, obviously.
-
So you were 12 when you started playing, not 10. Regardless, it doesn't matter. If you truly are 29 (I doubt it) perhaps you should start acting like it? Might make you more appreciated.
-
12 means I was still a kid. Care to tell me what a 29 year old should act like?
-
You're still a kid when you're 21. Perhaps you don't feel the need to express your "dominance" on an Internet forum, specifically talking about a topic you don't enjoy, out of the childish need to see other's angry?
-
It's your choice to get angry mate, I couldn't care less whether you do or not. As far as I'm concerned it seems like older people play pokemon just to feel like a kid again, which stil makes it a kids game.
-
It most definitely isn't my choice to get angry. And I'm not angry. And no, just because something is from your childhood and you enjoy it doesn't make it a kids game. Someone could watch the sopranos as a child and that would still be from their childhood. And I know many adults who play Pokemon for competitive and casual reasons. It's a lot more complex than it seems.
-
I think there is a bit of difference between The Sopranos and Pokemon. Pokemon was always marketed towards kids and has always had a primarily kiddy audience. The Sopranos didn't so it's a bad comparison.
-
Doesn't matter. You're saying that people only play the games to feel like kids again, which simply isn't true. It's a valid comparison.
-
But it is true, people play it for nostalgia and that's why every single game is so similar. Because if they changed their precious formula all the nostalgia fanboys you would rage so hard.
-
Sure. Some people play for nostalgia. But not everyone. And of course they don't change it much. Game freak is smart about it, they add elements that change the game but are completely optional. It's brilliant.
-
And true innovation will never come if they keep doing shit like that.
-
They truly innovate every generation. It's subjective. Make a better argument.
-
Everything is subjective. The fact that you think they innovate ever gen makes me laugh.
-
Not everything is subjective. And I don't care if it makes you laugh. Just as me saying "I laugh that you think Pokemon is a kid's game" doesn't matter to you.
