It could simply mean that with all the evil and darkness that has befallen the human race dose not mean that it is the end, there is hope, a light in the darkness. That the hope of mankind are the Guardians, or that there is hope found within the confines of the universe of Destiny. We must decide what to do with the time that is given to us. Hope some of this made sense.

Edited by Crimson Thomas: 10/11/2013 4:32:27 AMScreams Lord of the Rings in every good way, friend. :) Very well-put. I posted a link to a song that is from LOTR's soundtrack, seemed to fit the feeling to me. The lyrics are as follows: May it be an evening star Shines down upon you May it be when darkness falls Your heart will be true You walk a lonely road Oh, how far you are from home May it be the shadow's call Will fly away May it be to journey on To light the day When the night is overcome You may rise to find the sun Mornië utúlië (Darkness has come) Believe and you will find your way Mornië alantië (Darkness has fallen) A promise lives within you now This song holds a lot of personal sentiment to me, as it is not only from my favorite literary/movie series but also because of how it relates to my Christian faith. This song is just so good at telling exactly what Lord of the Rings is as a story, and doesn't Destiny seem to share a lot of the same themes from the lyrics (at least from what we know right now)? Discuss, please!

Edited by Hobbes92: 10/11/2013 2:15:01 AMIts like how the Northern Kingdom of Men in Middle Earth fell and like the lost Dwarf halls Khazad-Dum, or even the destroyed elf city of Gondolin. All of them are waiting to be free'd and rebuilf from the shadows.

Yeah! Tons of Destiny parallels here :D

Call me crazy, but after reading the post above about the comparisons between the Hunters in Destiny and the Dunedain Rangers. I started thinking about what other characters in Destiny compared to characters in the Lord of the Rings universe. The only one i could really think of was Dwarves. (Here comes the weird part.) Dwarves are described as being strong, , hardier than any other races, unswerving, and went to war frequently. (I know that there are other details as well.) But i thought this fit the description of the Titan class or even the Exo race. What do you think?
-
I think that's a good observation. I can certainly see parallels between the Titans and the Dwarves.
-
I didn't compare them in the right way, did I? And i wore my thinking cap this time.
-
I thought it was good!

Edited by Hobbes92: 10/12/2013 3:29:48 AMOh, okay. iIthought I wasn't being detailed enough in my explanation. I always liked the rogue/stealth type characters, like the Rangers. Though I'm not typically good at playing them, always end up making some silly mistake. I start off being Sam Fisher, but end up being Delta instead. I'm better off being a distraction or target dummy.
-
Well if you happen to be on PS4, my fireteam will need a Titan.
-
Why...yes. I will be. I would be honored.
-
Then I will see you in The City, Hobbes! Looking forward to playing with you!

I just hope I can change my online ID to Hobbes92, I made the one I have right now off the top of my head.

Yeah, it dose. For some odd reason, I can't watch the video, but I know what you mean. The Lord of the Rings full of examples of light over coming the dark. Good to meet a fellow Christian online. I'm a bit out of whack at the moment, drawing a blank on what to write.

Nice to meet you, it's always nice to meet a citizen of our City to come. :) I know the feeling, but nothing about your posts have been difficult to understand! The verse "To journey on to light the day" seemed to fit Destiny quite well, in my opinion. I can't wait for Bungie to give us more story to work with here!
-
Yeah, but if they give to much, there wouldn't be much to discover. That verse dose make a nice match, sets the tone be more than just a gun slinging, "space magic" slinging maniac.
