I see bullet time as a 'saving grace' feature.
It would suck to stay undetected for like an hour and then have it all wasted by one puny guard without any way to prevent it

Well that's how all MGS games work, and which is why I'll probably keep the tagging feature on so I can scout and look for enemies. But what you say does have merit, did you watch the daytime MGS: Ground Zeroes footage, Big Boss was fighting tanks and shit not long after going into the alert phase

All MGS games have their own ´bullet time´ if you really think about it. The time between the guard is alerted to your presence to the time he calls on the radio for reinforcements. It´s just painted differently pretty much.
-
But when he sees you he automatically shoots you, by the time you get up you only really have time to roll into him where he's still alive, and if you miss a little bit you get reinforcements. With this you just go bip bop bam and the guys down.

Lol I always though for annoying guards in games that if they shoot as soon as they see you (such as any stealth mission in CoD) what if it was their friend? Lol "I just thought it was a squad of highly trained American soldiers! I swear!"

Yeah, but apparently in MGS5 when the bullet time runs out, the alert is already in full force. No need to call on the radio. It compensates.
-
Hell yeah full force, -blam!-ing tanks and shit. It's nice for a stealth game that punishes you for being caught. As in, MOTHER-blam!-ING TANKS AFTER YOU. But still, it's nice that it'll be made optional. Kojima didn't want it in in the first place.

Yeah, but as he said, it´s going to be hard as -blam!- no bullet time nor tagging. I might try it with no bullet time eventually, but never without tagging.
-
Yeah I'll be keeping tagging on, tagging makes the whole planning thing worthwhile, and gives me more of an incentive to scout the area before rushing in.
-
Yeah, I love that. Actually makes you seek out high ground and use the binoculars.

I saw it. That's pretty much when I realized that the new features might actually be a good thing. I was very skeptical at first. Being open world, the game may not save often. That's why it would suck to be detected and killed after spending so much time and effort trying to stay undetected, and then possibly having to re-do like and hour's worth of work. It could be very frustrating for some players without the features.
