Edited by Capiton Render: 10/7/2013 6:14:55 PMyou have to be careful, while a citizens arrest is used, one -blam!- up in any manner in the arrest, or not obtaining the evidence, and you have just committed unlawful imprisonment, kidnapping, and a potential slew of other crimes, since you dont have the same protection as a police officer. So if you assumed i stole something from a store in your mall, and obtained me without evidence, i would be justified in using lethal force due to the fact you are performing kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment.

What im getting at, is you have the illusion of this power, since you cat obtain a warrant, or prove without direct evidence, and saying you saw it happen, isnt sufficient.

It's not an illusion, everyone has equal power. The police simply abuse this far too often without any accountability.

It is an illusion, you cant retaliate against an officer, they can arrest you without proper evidence, civilian does it without proper evidence, unlawful imprisonment and kidnapping.
