Hey Hylebos, did you see that boomerang looking metal thing that was shot out from that Hive's weapon(the purple looking energy shots)?

could you suggest their origin? What they are?

Not sure. It could be it's own functional class of weapons since they have a distinctive profile, not to mention the shots the guns fire are also visually distinctive. I think it makes a nice addition to the usual bullets and blob fest that we saw in Halo, occasionally interrupted by a Needle, Rocket, or Laser.
