20-30 Bikers attack SUV after accidental collision
[quote]The New York City Police Department said a man driving a Range Rover with his wife and 2-year-old daughter inside Sunday struck a motorcyclist on Manhattan's West Side Highway, breaking his leg.
"It was an accident," says Lt. Karen Anderson.
The SUV driver pulled over, and the bikers surrounded his vehicle, hitting it and spiking the tires, police said. The driver pulled away, hitting three more bikers in the process, police said.
The gang, called "Hollywood Stuntz," according to police, chased the man, and he was forced to stop because of flat tires.
The SUV driver was cornered and beaten, according to police. He was later treated at a local hospital for slashes to his face and released. His wife and child were not injured.
One biker who was struck by the SUV, 28-year-old Christopher Cruz, was arrested and faces several charges, including reckless endangerment, reckless driving and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.[/quote]
Thoughts? Do you think (given the video) that it was an accident? Do you think the driver is at all at fault? What kind of charges should be brought up? Is it fair that the original "victim" is in custody now?

I pictured guys similar to an actual motorbike gang, not a bunch of guys in their 20's on crotch rockets. They may be fast, but nothing is scarier than a bunch of middle aged men that are pissed off riding Harley's and carrying baseball bats. SAMCRO might have ruined my idea of a real biker gang, but some can be close when it comes to violence.

Agreed with the majority. Dumb biker tried to "slow the truck down" by brake checking them. After that, it was all bikers escalation.

Guy acted in self defense, I would be scared shitless if a bunch of bikers surrounded my car and I had my wife and child with me. The bikers should be charged with assault and reckless driving. No idea why the biker posted the video, it only helps the guy in the SUV prove his case.

Been following this story in Jalopnik since yesterday. That biker who brake checked the RR is an ass hat. When you have your wife and 2 year old in the car and you fear that their lives are in danger you're going to do whatever you can to get out of there. Also these bikers are mostly ass hats. There are several videos of them breaking laws and treating law abiding motorist terribly.
