I'm not saying he holds himself higher than humanity, just that right now he believes he's uncontested on the planet. The point of bringing him down to Earth isn't because of the whole "lol teh human beets teh aleinz," it's to have both parties learn that their differences in thinking are what makes them work together [i]better[/i], and in that way it sets up the JL movie perfectly.
