A process of fertilisation called sexual reproduction. During sexual intercourse, a male achieves an orgasm via repeated vaginal penetration, and releases semen into the woman's vagina.
Male gametes in the semen known as sperm travel through the cervix, through the uterus to the fallopian tube. If a female gamete, known as an egg, is present in the tube, the first sperm to reach and burrow into it will initiate fertilisation.
The newly created embryo will then travel to the uterus, and bind to the heavily blood vessel filled surface, then begin to repeatedly divide into more cells. A placenta will form, supplying the embryo with nutrients for 9 months, as the embryo grows and expands into a larger foetus.
Eventually the mother would go into labour, and the foetus will travel, usually head first, back through the uterus and cervix, and exit through the vaginal opening, being born as a baby.
