Because existence is a subjective state dependent on the measurement of an observer to conclude 'it exists' in the first place.
-
if life was gone the matter of everything not alive would still be there, ie the universe. What you're talking about is -blam!-ing gay ass pseudo-science like biocentrisim gtfo.
-
I thought you praised biocentrism when you made a thread on it. Besides, I'm thinking philosophically here, not necessarily scientifically. But consider this, there is no quality of non-existence with which to compare existence. Therefore, there is no difference in state because there cannot be one. The only thing that defines existence is having a perception there to make such a measurement.
-
lol semantics. You're essentially arguing over the definition of existence. Fundamental particles are not living, they are not alive, so if you remove living things, they would remain, therefore the universe would remain.
-
Does that alter the fact that existence is a redundant concept since it has no comparison?
-
once again, this is a definition of a word you are arguing. call it whatever the -blam!- you want, that matter would be present, thus the universe. It's up to hippies like you to label it, so have fun splitting hairs for the rest of your life.
-
Well... Not really. The point of this thread was to think philosophically. The idea was to think a little more deeply into the concept of existence and perception. If you want to take it at a sort-of objective face value - yeah, the Universe'd still be here.
-
It's called Philosophy you blood clot, deal with it.
-
Philosophy can suck my balls. Matter would still be present whether we are there to observe it or not. The fundemntal particles of the universe would remain un altered. Hang yourself you -blam!-ing pot smoking hippie.
-
Matter would still be present whether we are there to observe it or not. The fundemntal particles of the universe would remain un altered.
you can't prove that.
Hang yourself you -blam!-ing pot smoking hippie.
lol never touched the stuff, unfortunately for you. Also, calling someone a hippie isn't much of an insult.
-
If you're saying "obviously", you probably need to think about the question a bit.
-
I did and it's still obvious.
