I still don't understand why drowning booker stops him becoming Comstock in some universes.

  • I struggled with this one for a while too. It's a constant, is the simplest answer. Whichever universes Comstock exists in, [spoiler]he will always take Anna, Booker will always follow him into those universes, and the horrors of Columbia will always lead to Booker's suicide. The clue is all the Elizabeths at the end; that's just a small selection of Elizabeths from other universes in which Comstock existed.[/spoiler]

  • because if the version of him that died was the pre-comstock version, then the universes where comstock and not-comstock booker(and elizabeth versions of anna) thus are eliminated at the fracture point where-in they diverged from the true universe.... leaving only normal booker dewitt and his daughter anna as the surviving universe.
