What Once Was -FanArt

What once was, is no more. [speedpaint] So I was kinda up in the air about doing a helmet or not, but then it's not obvious it's an Awoken. I'm still rather new to digital art, but I think I'm making progress now that I'm more comfortable with GIMP software. Looking forward to Destiny! PermeableProgo. (oh and in case it isn't obvious, the straight, clashing lines are indicating different periods of time, it's sort of whimsical, but the top represents the destruction of humanity, the middle the first exploration, and the dark feet the secrets that will be uncovered)

  • Pretty cool but I disapprove of GIMP. Try something more photoshop like and no downloads. pixlr Wow that looks like an advertisement. <.< i don't know if you can use a tablet for it but I still prefer it over gimp. (My computer is a dinosaur though that lags when using gimp)

    • Since I'm new to digital art I understand the learning curve, yet I think you have something here. Her face and expression is really good ... and since the Awoken are a 'mysticy' type of being I think you give her some good substance. A touch of color highlight on selected areas of her body would help give her distance and individuality, without pulling too much away from the piece. imo Also, very clever 'timeline' shift.

      • I'm not sure if it's because you're new to digital art or if it was purposeful on your part, but her face is super intriguing. I definitely like the visual style on that one, you should develop that more.

              • Dude... It would make for a great painting... if the lighting was more consistent. Those straight lines are pretty bad looking.
