Interesting (which is rare coming from IGN(orant), but I would have placed Half Life 2 at the top spot instead of the original. I understand that there's a history with the first Half Life, but its sequel was infinitely better.
I do like where Halo CE ended up, but I would have used footage from the original rather than the craptacular "Anniversary"...
Halo 2, 3, and Reach were well placed for their respective quality and strength of story and gameplay, but I don't believe Halol 4 should have ever been on that list. It was terribad when compared to any other shooter on that list (hell compared to any other game at all...).
I liked that "Doom" got #2. Good props for one of the originals. :)

What was wrong with Halo CEA? It was an HD remake.

Edited by Tartan 118: 9/16/2013 9:33:17 PMTell me, how were Half-Life 2's painfully artificial puzzles, crowbarred in (pardon the reference) just to show off the physics of the game, remotely as good as HL1's sublimely well-placed puzzles with the power supplies and the electrified water and the rocket fuel, all of which fit very well into the setting? I'd argue that HL1 had a better plot for its time, but that's because it was pretty much the first PC FPS to have a plot. I nearly forgot Marathon (as an FPS, not on PC). Ye gods, did that have a plot and a half. In a bad way; I can't remember the vast majority of it.
