A game that promotes such ill behavior, whether imaginary or not - no thanks.
The people who do this irl disgust me. There is no way I am contributing money to a developer who nor playing something that glorifies it.

Nope, he's 100% serious. - Der
-
10/10 nice job there

Idiot, we live in the most peaceful time in history (at least if you are in a first world country), and crime comes from poverty and social issues, not kids playing GTA
-
I thought crime came from criminals? Lots and lots of poor people aren't criminals. In fact the vast majority aren't. - Der
-
Yeah I didn't say all poor people are criminals, I just meant that if you can't feed your kids you're more likely to go steal a tv for cash or something nahmean
-
Yeah I didn't say all poor people are criminals...
Yeah, I didn't say you said all poor people are criminals...
I just meant that if you can't feed your kids you're more likely to go steal a tv for cash or something...
People stealing to buy food? Americans are the most generous people in the world. No one is stealing TV's to buy food. For drugs? Yes. For food, no. Nahmean? - Der
-
Americans are hardly the most generous in the world, but what the -blam!- am I doing discussing shit no one cares about on bnet, -blam!- me right
-
Yeah, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, N. Korea, Mexico, Chicago, other metropolitan cities where gang / drug violence had not subsided, but escalated - real peaceful. 'Kids' playing an M rated game.... great.
-
I'm sure all those countries are just overflowing with copies of GTA
-
Broad assumptions, you are making them.
-
There was gang activity before GTA. GTA has pretty much nothing to do with crime. Crime has went down as more GTA's have been released.
-
There was gang activity before GTA.
No way!
GTA has pretty much nothing to do with crime.
I'm sure there was a point there somewhere.
Crime has went down as more GTA's have been released.
Oh really. Source? I never said that GTA started gang activity. I never said that GTA made more people participate irl crimes. Your last comment is just impossible for me to get my head around. They have NO impact on increasing nor decreasing crime activity. Had you read your own second statement, you would have known that. BUT, gang activity and crime has NEVER decreased.
-
Um watch the news yes it has
-
GTA doesn't promote gang activity or glorify it. Also it's pretty much common knowledge crime has decreased globally over the last 20 years.
-
...Mom? Is that you?
-
nope I am a Dad though. I have killed hundreds of thousands of space aliens, bad guys, enemy teams, and zombies over the years, but all are games that do not promote or make being a gangster/thug 'cool'. I just don't see the appeal of it, game or not.
-
You know those games where you kill "bad guys"? The games that glorify the American war complex and all the evil America does worldwide? Why don't you complain about Infinity Ward or Treyarch or EA games? Because you're a brainwashed moron who will never question the upper class? Ok.
-
Who plays EA games?
-
Don't dodge the point of my post.
-
Edited by Cobravert: 9/16/2013 3:58:32 PMI didn't. I personally don't give a damn if you hate America or not. I play CoD games and do not have a problem killing the enemy teams, no different than killing aliens in Halo. Take downs Hitler? Hell yeah, let's do it! Take down a dictator or drug lord? I have no problem with this either. Take down bitches like this. Happening right now. But a game that glorifies the seedy underside of human nature by killing civilians, stealing, murdering, and whatever else... not for me.
-
When did I say I hated America? I like America a lot, but its government is full of shit. And I think games that glorify war are far worse than games that "glorify" crime. (Which GTA doesn't. I don't know if you've ever played it or not but it's always showing a life of crime is full of bullshit. And your character isn't exactly a criminal. More of an anti hero.)
-
Seemed implied that you did. My apologies. We're in agreement on the government. As for the game(s), no I never have and won't. I have never seen anything ever posted nor trailer that didn't show some type of nefarious activity. But I have already posted that in other parts of this thread string.
-
Of course there's nefarious activity. That's the point of the game. It doesn't mean it condones it.
-
You play Call of Duty, but we're the ones with problems.
