I posed this in the other thread
How much extra do they get paid if they carry?
Who monitors who is carrying which firearms? Are they registered with the school?
Does someone oversee that the teachers are properly trained? How often do they have to take a training and safety course?

Do you know what a CCP is and how one works?
-
Personally, no. I don't own a gun nor need one, so I haven't studied the rules in every state.

To get one you need a clan background (not be a criminal) have nothing about you that could deem you irresponsible to carry a gun (drug addiction, recently released from mental hospital, etc) and complete a safety training course. The details differ state to state, but those are the basics. The permits do expire and you have to renew them. Some states just require you to confirm safety rules, some require you to shoot with an instructor, this differs.

But shouldn't teachers be paid more if they're going to be actively defending their students? And shouldn't they undergo different training to protect groups of people? I don't know what exactly is covered in a gun safety course, but I doubt "how to protect a classroom of children" is covered.

You are taught how to use your gun in crowds, and I'm unsure about the extra pay.
