They moved it down since Halo 2, a little too far down though in 3/ODST. I didn't check Reach. They moved it to the point where it's 1.5% off where it should be though for Destiny. Or have I got this the wrong way round?

    Down is bad, they need to move it up! Your eyes always see more of the ground than the sky! The green line, 44%, needs to be 44% from the TOP, not the bottom.

  • But then you have more than half the screen just looking at the floor, where there's nothing really useful to the player. You'd need more of a view of whats above you in video games, it's very rare anything really comes from below.

  • But since you stand six feet tall (ish), you're above the horizon, and when other standing targets are in front of you, they're standing on the ground, below the horizon. So what you're going to be shooting at is generally a little lower, not higher. It sounds backwards, but having a higher reticule will help you see and engage those things better. Especially with the tighter FOV that games adopt, I doubt you'd actually think that too much of your screen was dirt. The lower reticule mimics walking around with your head cocked back, looking down your nose a little.
