Do you have to be good at drawing to be a good modeler? -
no, not at all. I sucked at drawing, but I like to create art. So I went to the computer and made up for my lack of drawing talent lol. All of my hand drawings looks nothing like my 3D modeled art (as seen above). I usually refer to real objects or other art that somebody had already created (from movies, games, or pics on the internet).
