Do you think Destiny will live up to all of it's hype?
First of all, I am french so sorry for the spelling. Do you think Destiny will live up to it's hype? I mean, for me, I didn't saw ANYTHING that excited me but this: http://on.fb.me/17eRpxc about the game. They're showing the same thing all over again! Does that mean they are far from the game being ''Gold''? Don't insult me but there's plenty of other great game that will look OR be better than this. I'm talking about ''The Division'', Elder Scrolls Online (even with it 15$ per month), Grand Theft Auto Online, etc... This is just my opinion. Thanks!

No. Doesn't mean it won't be an awesome FPS though. Yes, the game is far from gold at this point, it's at pre-alpha. They're actually taking a risk showing even this much, like some of the rougher elements of the game in development (gif related). Especially given how closely people, press, fans and the general internet like to keep tabs on Bungie, which has been the case since at least as far back as when Halo 3 was in development. I respect them for that.

1 ReplyI think it will! And the whole 15 dollars a month for ESO was game developer SUICIDE. With the cost of xboxlive on top'o that, you could rebuy the game in a few months. Ridiculous.

Every other game out there is doing te same thing over and over again. IMO Destiny looks like its going to be a breath of fresh air in the FPS genre of games.

I'm going to play nice because I think you generally just want to know. The game is still Pre Alpha stage. There is still no solid release date. It's projected at June 2014 I believe. That's what ppl 'think' is when it's going to be on shelves. It could be even later next year than June. I'm not a pro gamer. But I do work in the marketing industry. At this stage in the games development we should feel lucky that we've seen as much as we have so far. These other games that you're seeing are probably post beta and already have a release date (don't quote me on that, just a guess). That's why you're seeing more material on those games right now, bc they're releasing on or around the time these next gen consoles are releasing. TL;DR We should feel lucky we've seen as much as we have from Destiny because god knows they didn't have to show us anything yet.

Destiny is pre alpha. Nowhere near a gold master. Give it time... The game isn't out until 2014.

Well, I guess the short answer is that nobody knows for sure. I think they would really have to mess it up though or be massively deceiving us for that to happen. It's still (at least) a year out, so I think they will deliver. I just haven't seen a game yet on consoles that has offered such a feature set. The game is Bungie's to lose.
