What's the big monster behind the vex? Possibly their creator?

It almost looks like the initial outline of that black mass, on the right side of the red vex panel, shows an opening. We have two ships, one in the foreground(ish) and one in the back. It looks to me like a large hazy vertical opening in the sky. The background ship going into it, the other destined for somewhere else. I dunno about the squiggles at the top thoufh

I just noticed that, that could be something, at first glance I thought it was smoke, maybe it could be [i]that[/i] in the pic I posted? The creature on the [i]right[/i]. Maybe Kind of like a GraveMind overlord?
