Anybody else stopped caring about Gamerscore?

Or Trophies for that matter? I've come to realize that Gamerscore is pretty pointless, alot of the achiveos that i wanted to go for were really low yield anyways and i haven't been feeling satisfied once i achieved what i wanted (i felt pretty darn awful once i 100% RDR and Undead Nightmare, mostly because it felt like i wasted my time). So i basically gave up on going for achievements unless they seem like fun now and i probably wont attempt to 100% something for a while .-. Anybody else just flat out quit trying for achivements or stopped caring about "muh 1K"?

  • Pretty much it it's multiplayer. If they can all be done in single-player (Minecraft, Fallout, TES etc) then I go for 100% because it passes the time. I don't enjoy multiplayer too much so can rarely be arsed to go and play.

  • I don't go for 1K on every game, I just try to keep it higher then my IRL friends.

  • I don't think I ever really cared to much. I simply played the games I bought without caring whether or not I made achievements or not

  • If there's a good game with well designed achievements, I'll go for 100% Most importantly, I want to enjoy the game, if an achievement bored or frustrates me, I wont bother

  • But, but, but ... 3% discount!
Absolutely worthless, considering how much you would have to buy to get that.
• I don't usually bother with achievements unless I'm totally bored with a game and I want a reason to keep playing it.

  • I stopped caring about my gamerscore when Halo 3 and a few other games glitched and I couldn't earn some achievements.

  • I only care about getting achievements if I REALLY like the game. I have all of the achievements in Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, for instance.

  • They need to make achievements have in game uses like in halo 3.

  • I like seeing it pop up on the screen. I still sort of care about getting it. Its another small incentive to play games on the 360

The only games I ever care about GS in are Halo games. I have the original 1000/1000 for ODST, Reach, CEA, and 4, but not for Wars and 3; I never play Wars and I gave up on 241 ages ago. After I get the original 1000 I'm like -blam!- that.

  • The number yeah, but I like to complete games. This is why I'm still going after Seriously 3.0

I stopped caring after Reach, that bloody achievement where you have to leap off a cliff and knife an elite was bugged for me but I spent forever just leaping off that freaking rock to bounce on the ground. Then to add insult to injury that freaking achievement that ended in 3 gamerscore sets my teeth on edge. It forever ruined the nice 0 or 5 with 3 or an 8 ;_; I loved Reach but it put me off gamerscore forever. Now I play games for fun instead of completionism, and I actually enjoy it a lot more :D

    • Depends on my mood. Mostly I look at the achievements when I first put the disc in and then just play the game. But I must say multiplayer achievements are the worst.

I haven't cared about it in a long time, but I do enjoy getting achievements in some games. I had a grand ol' time getting them all on Fallout 3.

      • I never cared. I'm not some idiot that will buy a game just for the achievements then never touch it again.

      • When did anyone other than kids care about achievement or gamerscore? So many games have been ruined because if achievements, and achievement hunters in matchmaking. I will be so happy the day they are removed completely.

        • I haven't cared about it for years. I just play games to play games, and if I get some kind of achievement on the way, cool.

        • Sort of. But I'm incredibly proud of my near perfect GS for Halo games. One more for SA and one more for H4.

          • If they're fun to get or challenging but doable, then I love them. i.e I found The Darkness 2 achievements easy enough, but still fun and so I got 100% on it. Vidmasters are a good example of challenging but doable. Even though nearly everyone and their grandma has them now, they were great back in the day.
