[/quote] That's the thing though. Why do states with less gun control, like Texas, have a lower murder rate than states, like New York, that have more gun-control? Because places like New York and California make it difficult for law-abiding citizens to own a gun to which the common criminal understands such and allows them to commit a reign of terror on people that can't stop them then and there. Now, why would a person attempt to rob a bank or hold somebody at gunpoint in Texas? Answer is they won't out of the increased probability of a citizen carrying a firearm.
