It's one thing to respectfully dislike a genre.
It's another to be an ass for no reason and attack people's opinions as if they were factually unsound and yours weren't.

Edited by Uncle Putin: 8/15/2013 5:02:03 PMLet's get one thing straight. I don't have a problem with heavy metal. I don't particularly enjoy it, but there are a few heavy metal songs I enjoy, but I'm trying to understand why people actually like this particular song. There's nothing musically interesting about it. It has no beat to it, no emotion, and the guitarist just sounds like he's just mindlessly shredding so that he can create something that remotely sounds like a good musical phrase. I'm not trying to be condescending, I'm just trying to understand what intrinsic musical value this song has in it because to me it sounds like two 12 year olds banging on a drum and smashing around on a fretboard with no aim or goal with what they want to do with their music.

There is music like that out there. If you ever listen to break-core, that's essentially what it is and people enjoy it. I'm not a fan of either genre, so I don't get the appeal, but it is apparently very invigorating.
