Maybe there is a reason why there may not be a half life 3.
Maybe the developers don't want to drag out the series like what happened to other franchises.... Haven't you gone through a franchise that you felt was dragged out for a lot longer than you though it should, or the 3rd installment ended up being horrible compared to the one before?

Maybe the reason why they are taking so long is because they are taking their time making the game. Unlike EA, the CoD developers and everybody else that releases a game withing a 2-3 year time span withing the last game.

1 ReplyI doubt there never will be a Half-Life 3. I can almost 100% guarantee it will become an actual thing within the next 10 years. After all, once Source 2 is done, what better way is there to show it off?

I think at this point the game is too hyped up. i feel as if it does come out it won't live up to expectations, no matter how good the game is. It may do decent from the start but I don't know if the game could sell itself on it's own. At this point the Myth is better than anything they could come up with to really explain it. Let that thing rest, and let the jokes continue. All I know is that if they ever do make them, it'll likely be as a sort of OB2 which can only be played on the Steambox.

Because having a cliffhanger ending where it's supposed to continue is a great thing... yeah. There was obviously meant to be an Episode 3 but because of the way Valve is run they're never gonna get it done.
