Let's pretend Marijuana is legal
Let's pretend for a moment that marijuana was never illegal, that it is legal and regulated just as Alcohol is legal and regulated today.
Try to give your reason why Marijuana should be made illegal but alcohol shouldn't.

4 RepliesI wish, then I wouldn't have a record. OT: Marijuana causes the young to become lazy and useless, whereas alcohol has only short term effects that have no long term repercussions, so long as a person uses with responsibility.

1 Reply1) I hate when weed kids get frantic and bring alcohol and tobacco into their conversation. 2) There is no reason it should be illegal. When they were first doing their tests they strapped gas masks onto monkeys. One of the anti weed politicians thought that it made black people more confident and scary. The same politician thought weed makes white girls crave black weiner. 3) The legalization of Marijuana would be good and bad. Better economy. More jobs. It wouldnt affect anyone so long as it was regulated the same as Tobacco/Alcohol. HEMP IS AN EXTREMELY BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO PAPER, ROPE, BAGGAGE, AND MUCH MORE. im not getting into the health part cause its your body idgaf what you do with it. unless its like meth, or heroine....dont do those. Another reason is that this plant is extremely hard to regulate. unlike chemicals such as alcohol anwacky tobacky. means its harder for the government to tax. take control of. and sieze if they wanted to.

CA had a bill on the ballot in 2010 to legalize pot. However, it was HORRIBLY WRITTEN. A terrible bill that would have done more harm than good. I am all for legalizing pot, but only if it is done the right way.

8 RepliesIf legalization goes country wide, than let's not pretend like some huge corporation isn't going to take advantage of it eventually. You guys act like this would be a paradise if it were to happen, and it [u]might[/u] work out for a while. But you're completely neglecting the massive industries that already thrive off of their customers' addictions. I have no doubt in my mind that this will just become another one of them. Besides, if the only positive effects it has are for medicinal purposes, than why not just keep it legalized and regulated for medicinal use instead? No risk of it being made addictive, and the amount would have to be prescribed by someone qualified to do so.

Why do Companies have to add additives to Marijuana to be addicting? Simple... they don't! The substance is natural, healthy for you and is good enough that you'll like it without any artificial help. All you do by adding stuff to Marijuana is waste your time, resources and your money.
