If it is only for cosmetic items I don't see a problem with it.

Agreed, i just don't want a 10 year old getting mommy to buy some high level weapon early on, or purchase specific weapons. Id be ok with paint color, some emblems/symbols, simple stuff.

I don't see Bungie succumbing to a pay to win model, competitive play is such a staple to there games now. Especially since it has been confirmed that weapons carry over between game modes, if buying weapons or upgrades were a possibility it would severely put those who were not willing/able to shell out the extra coin at a disadvantage.
