I was on a road trip with my parents when when were on a dirt road, the car died, and to our surprise, all our phones were dead. It was seriously the worse situation possible. My brother and I walked close to 2-3 miles until I found a payphone and called some relatives to pick us up and bring jumper cables.

2-3 miles isn't as much as you think it is, but we brought bottles of water, because it was 90 something degrees.
