Well, the 770 is more powerful than the 760, hence the price difference. If you wanna cut down on the price, the 760 will be perfectly fine for you. It will run modern games on high settings at a high fps. Also, i don't know why you chose ivy bridge, as Haswell already came out. So, instead of a 3570k , go with a 4670k. What's your budget? Do you need a monitor/peripherals?

Thank you for the info. Do you think the i5 Haswell would work with games that come out four to five years from now? Would overclocking it be enough? Sorry for my stupidity. As I said, this is my first PC build.

  • It should be fine if you overclock. An 4670k/760 or 770 build should last you a long while. If you ever feel it is lacking, you can just grab a second gpu for sli. How much are you willing to spend right now?

  • I would like to spend under 1,000 but if I have to go over that I easily can. I have plenty of money from what I have saved the past few years.
